To address community demand for jobs within the retail sector, The Source works in partnership with local communities to deliver a 6-day Retail Preparation Course.
The objective is to allow people from local communities the opportunity to train to a standard that would prepare them for an interview within the retail industry, equipping them with the tools to gain employment with one of Meadowhall's retailers. Working alongside Meadowhall retailers to deliver relevant training, The Source offers participants a guaranteed interview.
During the course the attendees will gain a basic knowledge in areas such as:
- The retail sector
- Careers in the retail sector
- Customer service
- Product knowledge
- Display and merchandise
- Customer complaints
- Personal presentation
- Motivational training
- Interview skills
Previously The Source has worked with Burngreave Opportunities, Tinsley Forum and the Darnall Community Forum to address the unemployment levels in the local community. As a result of the Retail Preparation Course a high percentage of clients gained full and part time employment within the retail sector.
