Job Title: Operations Co-Ordinator

What is the aim of your job?
To ensure that conference customers' expectations are met and make sure they're all happy.
Can you think of a time when it all went wrong?
It's always a bit challenging when delegates arrive for a meeting that hasn't been booked! This has happened twice and thankfully we've been able to accommodate them both times.
What was your weirdest request?
A group of travel consultants asked if it would be OK for them to go into the car park to release some balloons.
Which was the most fun event?
There are two! The Pop Idol events were fun. Pupils from local schools attended workshops here at The Source where they learned to mix music, dance and sing. At the end of the course, they put on a show for us in the conference room - it was great to see what they had achieved!
The other was when the venue was used for a team building event in the form of a chocolate making! Of course we had to taste their wares....
What is the best aspect about your job?
Seeing conference organisers who are really nervous when they arrive with worries about technology, speakers, catering etc and noticing the change in them at the end of the day when they realise all their planning has come to fruition, their conference was a success and they're talking about next years' event.
