Sheffield’s The Source was named Training Venue of the Year 2006 at the prestigious, World of Learning Awards ceremony.
Held at the NEC, in Birmingham on 14 November 2006, this national, annual ceremony recognizes and rewards organisations and individuals who have significantly advanced workplace productivity and performance within the industry.
It is the first time that The Source has entered the World of Learning Awards and the team was delighted with its success, beating nine other, short-listed finalists to receive the Training Venue of the Year Award 2006.
“We feel that The Source has reached the stage where it can compete with other national training and conference venues. This award has confirmed our views that we offer some of the best training and conference facilities in the country and is recognition of the dedication of our hardworking team,” said The Source conference manager, Mike Denby.
Mike, together with his colleagues, Nuno DaSilva and Katrina Ferris, was at the ceremony to accept the award.
Jane Brown, Director of Sheffield First Partnership, the organisation spearheading Sheffield’s regeneration congratulates, “It’s really good news to see a dedicated training venue achieve such an accolade, both as recognition for the team and all their hard work but also to put Sheffield on the map for demonstrating how such a resource can be shown to work for its community.”
It was The Source’s holistic approach to training that particularly impressed the independent judging panel. While it is successful at attracting high profile business users, The Source is also accessible to local people and runs a variety of programmes including those designed to help individuals return to work and special courses for autistic children.
