The Source at Meadowhall's very own Nuno DaSilva will be treading the red carpet at the Yorkshire and Humber CoLaS awards after being short listed in the Business, Law and Administration category.
The Celebration of Learning and Skills Awards 2008 (CoLaS) seek to acknowledge and celebrate young people and their exceptional contributions to the workplace. Judges are looking for apprentices that make a real difference to the organisation they work for by going above and beyond expectations and delivering measurable benefits.
Nuno has worked in The Source Conference Department since 2005 and during this time has completed a Business Administration Apprenticeship levels 2 and 3.
Delighted with the news, Nuno said "I can't believe I'm actually up for an award. I'm really looking forward to the ceremony and hope my family and friends are too."
Nuno's manager, Mike Denby, said "The whole business is so proud of Nuno and his achievements since he started working with us. With the help of his colleagues, his assessor and his own determination, Nuno has become a very professional member of The Source team with a bright future ahead of him."
The Oscar style ceremony is a first for the region and will be one of the biggest ever held. Over 1000 guests will enjoy a spectacular ceremony at the Harrogate International Centre on 16 April 2008. The region's business leaders will join key employers, politicians, journalists, representatives from education and the families and friends of the nominees for an evening of entertainment and recognition of achievement.
