Santa has arrived on Pinstone Street and he's asking the people of Sheffield to dig deep this Christmas and give to a city charity. 

Apprentices from The Source Skills Academy have designed a Christmas window display featuring Santa's Sleigh as part of the Sheffield Showcase and they are encouraging Sheffielders to help fill Santa's sleigh with food that will then be donated to the Cathedral's Archer Project's Christmas collection for the homeless.

The Cathedral Archer Project supports people from a variety of backgrounds associated with homelessness including rough sleepers, drug and alcohol addicts, women street workers, probation clients, asylum seekers and refugees. With support most will be able to establish secure lifestyles free from drugs and alcohol and the lifestyle that accompanies them.

Ann Cadman from the Source said: "The Cathedral's Archer Project's Christmas collection is a fantastic cause that we are proud to support, but we still need the local community to get involved and donate items to help the homeless. Our Apprentices have shown their Christmas spirit this year and after the success of the last two years, we think Santa Sleigh will be
brimming."

Anyone who has a donation can take them to 106 Pinstone Street, Sheffield. Donations include:
- Tinned food (preferably with a ring pull)
- Dry goods - cereal, pot noodles, rice, flour, tea coffee, biscuits, sweets.
- Toiletries - deodorant (SPRAY ONLY), shower gel (NOT SOAP), razor and shaving foam, toothbrush and toothpaste.
- Clothes - socks, male and female underwear (only boxers and knickers)
- Cleaning - washing powder, basic cleaning products
- Sleeping bags and bedding

Donations are being taken up until Monday 19th December.

The Sheffield Showcase brings together creative talent, retailers and apprentices to animate the Sevenstone development site. The project creates an outdoor gallery in the city centre to boost the number of people coming into Sheffield to help businesses still operating in the area, as well as providing opportunities for future Sheffield retail talent who will drive the success of the New Retail Quarter in years to come.
