Health and Safety law requires employers to provide information, instruction, training and supervision to ensure employees know how to work safely and without risks to health. Good training helps employers to comply with the law, and can also lead to real benefits such as saving money, improving productivity, raising morale and helping create a happier, healthier workforce.
The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Level 2 Certificate gives employees essential knowledge and understanding of health and safety basics. It is suitable for people working in any sector including business and retail.
The topic areas covered are:
- Introduction to health and safety and health and safety law
- Health and welfare
- Safety
- The workplace and work equipment
- Risk assessment, manual handling and hazardous substances
- Ergonomics, working at height, transport and noise and vibration
The course runs at The Source for one day with light refreshments and all course materials provided. Assessment is by a multiple-choice exam, in which delegates have to achieve 20 correct questions out of 30. Successful delegates then receive the CIEH accredited Level 2 Certificate in Health and Safety in the Workplace, or a Certificate of Attendance if they achieve less than 20.
