The Source Day Nursery is Ofsted registered and offers sessions of 5 hours (half day) and full days.
The Day Nursery has a friendly, warm and motivated team who strive to provide the best service and care possible for your children. The Source Day Nursery provides indoor and outdoor play and education for children from 12 weeks to eight years of age. They also offer nursery education funding for three and four year olds enabling parents to access up to 15 hours free childcare per week for up to 38 weeks per year.
The Day Nursery aims to work with parents/guardians to build a close and trusting relationship and implement a broad, balanced and relevant early year's curriculum appropriate to all aspects of a child's development and catering for individuals' needs. They aim to give every child a positive self-image, to be happy and confident and promote healthy development emotionally, mentally, socially and physically. They monitor closely each child's development and offer regular communication and discussion with parents/guardians.
All children are appointed a Key Worker whose responsibility it is to liaise with the parent/guardian at all times to ensure that the care and wellbeing of the child is maintained whilst at the nursery and meets the child's individual needs. We feel this system offers a sense of stability, continuity and security - all vital to a young child's development. The Key Worker also completes ‘Feedback Sheets' and ‘Childcare Programmes' for each child in their group at regular intervals depending on the child's age, which parents/guardians can view at any time.
As part of the price package, all meals and drinks are provided by the Day Nursery and are fun, fresh and nutritious, aiming to foster a positive approach to healthy eating. Meals will be blended/mashed as required for your toddler aiding the transition from milk products to solids. Formula feeds are not provided.
Hot lunches will be provided by The Source Cafe and served by the Day Nursery staff. All other snacks will be prepared and served by the nursery staff (please see sample menu attached). The Day Nursery is aware of the importance of providing a positive influence on children's knowledge, attitudes and behaviour towards food and healthy lifestyle. The sharing of food and drink plays an important part in social life as well as reinforcing children's understanding in the importance of healthy eating. The Day Nursery will encourage your child/children to use real crockery and cutlery as soon as they are able to do so and will strive to encourage good eating habits and table manners.
The Source Day Nursery also provides a morning and afternoon snack which includes fresh vegetables which are home grown in The Source's own vegetable patch, nurtured by the children themselves. Snacks are rotated to ensure children attending the different sessions all have the opportunity to taste the varied snacks available.
The Day Nursery also provides nappies and wipes for all children who require them. Unfortunately they are unable to provide pull ups. Should you wish your child to have a barrier cream applied during nappy changes then please provide your own and label accordingly.
The Source Day Nursery's main objective is to provide a happy, caring and stimulating environment under the watchful eyes of qualified and experienced staff to ensure children are secure, safe, comfortable and happy.
